Remove products from external containers or packaging before storage. Where this is not possible or practical, clean and sanitize food packages and containers as appropriate prior to storage
Replace At least 75% of the indoor standard sized light bulbs with energy-saving light bulbs (CFL, LED)
Seal cracks around windows, doors, and through-the-wall or window type HVAC units with caulk and weather-strip doors and operable windows and make sure that doors and windows are closed when the AC is on
Set the temperature of hot water heaters between 49 to 54 deg. C
Shut down one or two of your elevators during off-peak periods to help save energy
Signage should be posted to explain the current procedures
Switch to LED or high pressure sodium or low-wattage metal halide lamps for outdoor lighting
Treat all wastewater and gray water. No open effluents. No sewage or desalination discharge is disposed into lagoons, bay areas or sea. Access of the hotel to an own or an external sewage treatment plant is obligatory
Use a ladder or stepstool to reach items on higher shelves
Use flexible or separate switches for lights in areas such as coffee shops and restaurants so that part of the lighting system can be switched off if that area is not being used
Use garden lights that are powered by solar energy
